GIM Team Strategies

Role Splitting Guide

Divide responsibilities among team members to maximize efficiency. Each member focuses on specific skills that benefit the whole group.

Resource Gatherer

  • - Mining, Smithing, Crafting focus
  • - Provides gear and supplies to group
  • - Blast Furnace specialist
  • - Gem mining for jewelry

PvM Specialist

  • - Combat and Slayer focus
  • - Boss farming for uniques
  • - Provides drops to group
  • - Raids when ready

Skiller Support

  • - Herblore and Farming focus
  • - Provides potions for PvM
  • - Manages herb runs for group
  • - Cooking and food prep

Quest/Diary Specialist

  • - Prioritizes quest unlocks
  • - Achievement diary completionist
  • - Unlocks teleports and areas
  • - Fairy rings, spirit trees early

Shared Storage Optimization

  • 1.
Prioritize Shared Items - Store items that benefit multiple members: teleport jewelry, runes, potions, and food.
  • 2.
Coordinate Deposits - Communicate before depositing large stacks. Storage starts at 80 slots and grows to 200 through group task unlocks, which only open up once the group is 5 weeks old.
  • 3.
Use for Trading - Members trade freely within the group (and only within the group). Newly added members have escalating trade caps for their first four weeks, from 1m in week one to unlimited in week five.
  • 4.
Keep Supplies Stocked - Designate someone to keep food, potions, and commonly needed items always available.

Team Coordination Tips

Communication

  • - Use Discord or group chat for coordination
  • - Share progress updates regularly
  • - Call out valuable drops for group decisions
  • - Plan boss trips together for efficiency

Early Game Coordination

  • - One person rushes quests, others skill
  • - Share early teleport jewelry
  • - Coordinate Wintertodt as a group activity
  • - Split up achievement diaries for efficiency

Mid/Late Game

  • - Team bossing for faster kills
  • - Share rare drops fairly (or based on need)
  • - Raid within the group only - outsiders at CoX/ToB/ToA cost prestige
  • - Help carry newer group members through content

GIM-Specific Features

Prestige System

Prestige is a gold star shown on the group hiscores. It is lost by inviting or re-adding a member after the group is created, having a member permanently banned, or doing group PvM with outsiders at CoX, ToB, ToA, the Nightmare, Nex, Royal Titans, or Yama. Once lost, it cannot be regained.

Hardcore Group Ironman

Optional hardcore mode with a shared pool of one life per member - a trio gets 3 lives. Each unsafe death burns one, and when the pool hits zero the whole group loses hardcore status. Requires prestige.

Group Hiscores

Track your group's total level and compete against other GIM groups. Coordinate leveling for hiscores rankings.
